MT and MO messaging
Also called one-way messaging, MT and MO stand for Mobile Terminated vs. Mobile Originated.
MT
MT being the delivery of messages, is the term commonly used when referring to sending one-way messages to handsets. MT-bulk refers to large quantities of messages, being sent not necessariloy at one point in time, but merely in a large scale.
Several standardized interfaces helps guarantee a successful delivery of text messages from any application or system. HTTP and SMPP allow for a smooth transfer of message, whilst the smaller company might want to use FTP or e-mail for those bulks of messages that are to be sent out every now and again.
